What's going on you money-crazed lunatics!  On this episode of the podcast, I talk about the Three Fund Portfolio approach which places emphasis on the passive investment approach.  If you are too overwhelmed in the market and are delaying actually getting started because of that, consider using this approach.  It finds a happy middle between overdiversification and under diversification.  The name of the game is simple, find a fund provider, whether that is Vanguard, Fidelity, Schwab, etc. and choose a U.S. Total Market Equity Fund, an International Equity Fund, and a Global Bond Fund.  The rule of thumb for this portfolio allocation is 60-30-10, but if I were to implement this in my life, I would look at more 75%, 20%, 5%.

Remember, choose funds that have a low expense ratio as a priority and remember to rebalance at least semi-annually, but it is preferred to do it on a quarterly basis.

Here are some tickers to consider:

U.S. Total Market Index Fund Ideas: SWTSX, VTSAX, FZROX, FSKAX, or VTI

International Equity Fund Ideas: FSPSX, SWISX, PXINX, VTMGX

Global Bond Fund Ideas: FGBFX, TPINX, PIGLX, ANAGX
