When you search to be more patient,

Disciplined,

Faithful,

Courageous,

Or any other trait that you feel like you need in your life, you'll be challenged with situations that will force you to take on that trait.

I used to be the one, too, that would pray to become more disciplined - assuming that I would magically grasp the power to obtain that trait.

But,

I've found that specific situations will become present in my life that will challenge me to stay disciplined in order to make it through.

Actively searching to be more courageous? You'll be faced with situations that require courage. 

Actively searching to be more patient? You'll be faced with situations that require patience.

Actively searching to be forgiving? You'll be faced with situations that require forgiveness.


The pain of the situations you're being confronted by,

Is directly proportional to the growth that you're searching for.
