In this first episode of the Voice2Change podcast by Jane Doe No More, our host Jocelyn Maminta interviews Donna Palomba. Donna is the founder and president of Jane Doe No More which she started back in 2007. Today we hear her story and why she started the nationally recognized organization.

After surviving a home invasion and sexual assault that happened in 1993 she was then revictimized by a police department who choose not to believe her, mismanaged her case, and let her perpetrator get away.

Donna used her professional experience in marketing to start Jane Doe No More and launched the non-profit at the same time Dateline NBC aired a special about her. Donna has journeyed the painful path from victim to survivor and emerged as an empowering voice for other survivors.

In this episode:

  • Embrace the brave journey of Donna Palomba from a sexual assault survivor to a survivor advocate

  • Delve into the importance of having open, stigma-free discussions about sexual crimes

  • Recognize the necessity for law enforcement to adapt a trauma-informed approach, ensuring survivors' justice
