I’m very new to the prospect of voice acting but this guy has a very calming and descriptive way of getting at the heart of voice acting, I had helped me find a love where once there was only a paycheck, he shows reverence for other’s stories i would love to have the opportunity to be able to be in the seat opposite him someday.

I cannot express how thankful I am to Crispin and what he’s created for us all here. I’ve been voice acting for 2 years now and only just started to REALLY go for it full time. The amount of realisations, breakthroughs and knowledge I’ve acquired from each episode has been astounding. I started listening with the interview with Yuri Lowental as he’s my VA inspiration, but stayed because of how incredible Crispin has been! Turns out our stories are quite similar and I’ll be sure to take acting classes very soon. HIGHLY recommend this if you’re considering a career in voice acting, direct wisdom from a modicum of seasoned professionals.

I started listening to this in last October (2022) because I know this is what I want to do. About 150 episodes and many MANY notes later I feel confident to be able to go out and start audition for voice over jobs. If your even just thinking about getting into voice over at least just listen to the first few episodes. Crispin’s advice and information will help you out so incredibly much and I owe so much to this podcast. I’m really looking forward to more episodes and I’m not even finished listening to all the ones that are out yet haha

Using his vast knowledge & experience, along with his fantastic veteran voice acting guests, Crispin is able to lay down a great framework, a roadmap, to having solid foundation in this industry! This should be your essential 101 class before you jump into anything else!

Crispin is a master at making this information clear, as well as concise. He brings it to a level you can understand and dives deeply into each aspect you need to know. He truly is a master of his craft wether he’ll admit it or not and knows how to share it in informative and sincere way. Crispin handles his interviews well and asked excellent questions. You can tell he is just as interested as you are in those he speaks to and even if he’s heard the story before, it still sounds like he genuinely enjoys doing this. The guest selection is amazing as well, I’ve heard a few of the guests hes had on a few other interviews yet there are things they share here I haven’t heard elsewhere. He just asks the right questions. The audio quality is excellent. There are a few interviews you can tell weren’t recorded in a studio but they are never distracting or jarring. You can still hear everything clearly. I rarely give things 5 stars but the amount I’ve learned from this podcast is truly unreal. Each episode runs what seems like just the right amount of time, and leaves you striving for more knowledge from the next. My advice, don’t sleep on this podcast and if you are going into voiceover, I highly recommend this this podcast. This is one of the definitive sources for those wishing to pursue this career and life choice. 100/100 this dudes a master and DONT SLEEP ON THIS!! Thanks Crispin. This is phenomenally helpful!

Authoritative voice with a pleasant interview style

Crispin is genuine through and through. His love for VO is unquestionable and his love for his fans, audience, and fellow voice actors is just the same. I can listen to his episodes over and over.

I’ve gotten into voice acting lately. Especially because of the pandemic it was hard to do things in my acting group, so I started making radio dramas and acting in my friends stop motion YouTube channel. Thank you Crispin Freeman, this podcast is really helpful and not a lot of actors or voice actors care about people who want to get in the business and I’m glad you do this. I also like the cleanliness of language 😃.

It’s my dream job to be a voice actor for cartoons one day. This podcast is really helping me out! I’ve learned a lot more about voice acting then ever before. I’m only 14, but if I practice enough with this podcast, I’m sure I can achieve my goal of being a full time voice actor.

When I first heard this podcast, I’ll be honest… I was a little skeptical. But, over 160 episodes later, and I know that it’s been such a valuable to anyone at all interested in voice acting. Crispin is unbelievably intelligent and insightful. His guests are just wonderful, too. I sure wish he could put episodes out more frequently, but that just means he’s a successful and busy voice actor! Keep them coming!

Crispin Freeman is more than a voice actor, he’s an excellent interviewer and reporter. Every episode I’ve heard has been fascinating in both the pursuit of voice acting knowledge and the general interest in the stories of other actors. It is easily one of my top three favorite podcasts.

From Mel Blanc and June Foray, to Frank Welker and Tress MacNeille, I just can’t get enough of voice actors. It’s a passion (some might say obsession) that has captivated my imagination since I was a child. What Crispen brings to this podcast is years of experience coupled with amazing talents that are the product of hard work. The interviews he conducts never fail to inspire and motivate. Even if you have no interest in becoming a voice actor, there are life lessons aplenty here. Protip: Don’t skip over the episodes you think will benefit you the least, some of those are in my top10!

This podcast promised to provide a pathway to learning what it takes to be a voice actor, but what it gives is a pathway and mindset to being successful and any endeavour. It helps you find ways to practice, be prepared for the environments you will be in, and hopefully, be successful in them. More than a voice acting podcast, it is more of a career mastery podcast wrapped into a voice acting shell.

I love this podcast! Every actor has incredible insight. It’s like they’re sitting on your couch and sharing their acting secrets. It’s really helped me learn all those things I would never ask about!

Crispin does a great job of providing VO insight beneficial to voice actors from all experience levels, and he does it in such a smooth, sweet, comforting, mellifluous way, hence the maple syrup analogy. If you don’t like maple syrup I want nothing to do with you.

I’m so glad I found this podcast. It is fantastically helpful, informative, insightful, and enlightening. I love the variety of guests, but more importantly, I love Crispin Freeman’s summary at the end of each interview. Crispin Freeman has been a name I’ve known for a long time in voice over, and in this podcast he really shows why he’s one of the best in the business. His experienced opinions and information, willingness to share his own story, and opening of windows into the lives of more of the businesses finest talents make this a must-listen for anyone interested in voice work. Pretty much any question you may have is probably answered in one of these episodes, and gets it’s due amount of attention. I particularly appreciate how he not only goes over technical know-how and life in the business, but he focuses a respectable amount of time on things like how to build up your confidence, and how to get yourself psychologically prepared for any step of your process. He clearly cares to make sure that you know what you’re doing and how to do it, and that you’re ready to do it as well. Crispin seems like a great guy, and he’s making fantastic and helpful content. So if you see this Crispin, thanks man.

This is one of the best and most thoughtful resources I have found on the subject of voice acting. I started listening not to find out how to get into the business, I’m already a working voice actor, I was hoping to hear some practical advice on how I can better honor my lucky involvement in an industry that I love so much. I found it in this podcast. In addition to terrific advice for novice voice actors, this podcast is a great resource for people who are in the midst of their careers and want to continue to put their best foot forward. And frankly, I like listening to Crispin’s voice, it’s so calming! If I could just get him to narrate my life, I think it would do me a lot of good ;)

I've been listening to the VAM podcast for several months now, and I've heard every episode. I recently started it over from the beginnning, and there are so many more things I'm learning than the first time I listened! Crispin Freeman is very educated and quite entertaining as well. I've found that much of the advice he and his interviewees give are applicable to many other forms of art, as well as life in general. If you're at all fascinated by the world of voice acting, it would be a shame to miss out on this podcast.

This was the first VO podcast I listened too when I started considering a career. I had to step back for awhile, but came right back to Crispin now that I can move forward. Not only did his first episodes give me a good foundational knowledge, it also helped me to learn that it’s not just reading copy, it’s acting. I highly recommend his podcast, it’s a great mix of education and entertainment.

Ah, Crispin. If I could only meet you in-person to express my gratitude for what this podcast has meant to me. . . I'm a budding actor who has only just changed professions in my late 20s, and this podcast has been pivotal to give some direction to my muddling through the arts mire. I, like Crispin, have been fanning over anime for most my life; people have told me I have a future as a voice actor. But instead of having to undertake the arduous and confusing struggle to understand just what that means, I stumbled across this podcast. A great introduction for upcoming performers and artists looking to diversify!

By all intents and purposes, this was my first time getting a voice acting "lesson". Even if it's just a podcast, I've learned so much from it and am so grateful.
