Show notes
Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer was never a gentleman sleuth. He was a blunt instrument with a conscience — a New York private eye who took the beating, threw it back twice as hard, and believed in rough justice when the law ran out of room. In this April 1953 Mutual broadcast, Hammer takes the Lillian Martin case and follows a pair of two-tone saddle shoes through a city that would rather he didn't. Their owner shoots first and comes close enough to leave a mark, and everything Hammer turns up afterward says the shooting was the easy part. Larry Haines stars as Hammer, with Jan Miner, from a script by Ed Adamson. 🎧 Hundreds more classic radio shows free at https://www.vintageradioshows.com 📱 Listen anywhere with the Vintage Radio app for iPhone and iPad: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/vintage-radio/id455577974
