It has always been a basic human tendency to be a part of a social group. It gives them the sense of belonging and, boosts their confidence and gives them a status in the social group. On top of it they aspire for validation from who they perceive more superior. The root of this complex phenomenon is sown quite early...even before we are conscious about it.
