Robin Belfield (Verbatim Practitioner) gives an overview the process that has led to the creation of a piece of Verbatim and highlights the importance of the performance as a continuation of the discussion on Verbatim Theatre.

Part 4: Staging your play

Verbatim theatre is a type of theatre-making where the text is generated from interviews with 'real life' people. There are various methods of using and practicing this form of theatre. This collection features an introduction to Verbatim Theatre with key practitioners Alecky Blythe (London Road), Nadia Fall (Home), David Hare (Stuff Happens) and Nicolas Kent (The Colour of Justice), as well as practical guides on how you can create a piece of Verbatim Theatre yourself.
