I visit Juliana Irene Smith and Arvid van der Rijt in the underground war-shelter-turned-art-venue Free Art Space in Helsinki. They have made their first collaborative installation More Please, reminiscing about their youth and dealing with childhood trauma using each their mediums of choice in one big immersive collage. Arvid explains how he works with sound and video in his live-reactive setup, and Juliana describes how she uses recycled textiles, paint and personal photographs in her rainbow catharsis. We also talk about how it feels to work with your partner, when family becomes collaboration.
