This episode features Kaliat T. Ramesh (K T Ramesh), an internationally renowned scientist and engineer, and the Alonzo G. Decker Jr. Professor at Johns Hopkins University. He is the founding Director of the Hopkins Extreme Materials Institute (HEMI), where his lab studies materials under extreme conditions , ranging from asteroid impacts and planetary defense to biomechanics and traumatic brain injury.

In recognition of his contributions to planetary impact science, an asteroid, (32518) Ktramesh, has been named in his honour.
