Imagine a landscape dressed in trees, dressed in grass, dressed in water. Now what if you could pull that all away? What would remain? It's a deceptively vast and empty-seeming landscape. And much of it is unexplored. In this show, we visit the Death Valley Wilderness, located within the vast expanse of California's Mojave Desert.

Untrammeled, as one of many endeavors intended to increase wilderness appreciation during this 50th anniversary year, seeks to engage the public's interest in continued wilderness stewardship. Through real-people stories and practical information about visiting our stunning wilderness preserves across the U.S., listeners will be inspired to investigate and explore on their own, leading ultimately to a public that can more directly relate to, understand, and value wilderness lands, and will recognize the importance of preserving them for generations to come.
