The book A South-Side View of Slavery was published in 1854 by a prominent anti-slavery Massachusetts pastor Nehemiah Adams. His recorded observations were both accurate and contentious--refuting the radical abolitionist narrative of the day. Episode 4 gives a brief overview of this work, along with a talk on some of South Carolina's secession documents.
