Mainstream wrestling in the mid-2000s was in a weird place. WWE had only recently won a grueling ratings war that ended with them ruthlessly purchasing their competition. With their biggest stars either leaving or taking a backseat, WWE had to find a way to sustain their success coming into this new era. Enter Ruthless Aggression – an era characterized by highs and major lows in the industry.
On the other side of the ocean, WWE was finding its way more and more to the small screens of the Philippines. A generation of kids (who should probably not have been watching this) were awestruck by larger than life characters and absurd soap opera style stories. If you ask these kids almost 20 years later what watching crazy ass stories (yes, you can win custody for someone's child in a ladder match) meant to them, you'll get this alcohol-fueled nostalgia trip of an episode of Unli-Pop! Listen as Leandro Ds and special guests Ace Jazmines & Jao Bernardo share stories of their wrestling consumption, analyze the era, and more!
