Following International Men’s Day, it was important for us to connect with one of the most valued males in Eliza’s life. Her mentor and friend Steve Spencer.
Steve is surrounded by females in his personal and professional lives; he and his wife, Emma have raised three daughters and he has also practised as a mental health nurse for the last 10+ years.
As an advocate for all young people and compassionate living, he continues to break down stigmas and challenge gender roles and it is for these reasons we have been inspired to have him on the podcast to share his journey of living and unlearning.
Steve shares with us some of his experiences throughout childhood, adolescence and adulthood that have shaped his beliefs and practices around intentional parenting. As well as how he works at his closest friendships with the notion of men supporting mates.
The Book Steve mentions during this episode;
- The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran
