In this portion of scripture, James addresses the idea of believers misjudging the motives of other people. The tendency most people have is to cast judgment on a person for what they say or do, or because of some external factor or outward appearance. In this section, James has a word for believers, as he addresses the problem of prejudice and making superficial judgements. He places emphasis on right speaking and right acting.
