Hello allAjak Kwai blesses us with the wisdom of Mpaphi Nfandizo, a Botswanan musician prominent in the Melbourne music scene, who describes the importance of community, and the community fostered by the African music scene in Melbourne and how that scene has changed in itself since he came to Melbourne. The shift from live music to DJing, the comparative popularity of African music in the UK and US, not only in how it impacts the native music. They also discuss the repeating pattern of music by African people being appropriated and stolen by those who opress them. 'We like the music, but we don't like you.'Mpaphi plays regular at Old Plates on Brunswick street, and his trio is playing at Bodriggy Brewing Co on the 3rd of July. Radiothon is on this month so please donate if you can, however much you are comfortable to, as it helps keep 3CR running and pumping out good shows like this one.Enjoy!Track #1 - Unknown Track by Unknown ArtistTrack #2 - Walk by Blind MelonTrack #3 - Beny Wei by AlijomaTrack #4 - Malu (feat.
