The hosts of Trust Tree Talks have consistently been impressed by what Audrey Gelman, founder of The Wing, created with her coworking spaces and network of women. Also, her merch is always on point. In this episode, Lisa and Elizabeth talk about a piece Ms. Gelman wrote for Fast Company, admitting to mistakes during the ramp up of her company and apologizing for not always being true to her stated mission, impacted each of them and share stories of moments of leadership, wins and losses, in their own lives. They discuss the expectations placed on women founders and whether we’re willing to give a little grace when women fall short, or if society is too quick to malign women leaders learning on the job. Are we too quick to judge? The conversation turns to how to serve the unique challenges of women leaders and what they hope to provide through the network of Trust Tree to be of service.
As noted, this episode was recorded prior to the COVID-19 crises and subsequent shuttering of The Wing spaces.
