In the midst of asking women to share their stories for their Omitted from My Obituary anthology (due out this summer), the women of Trust Tree had an uh-oh moment when they realized they needed to put pen to paper and participate. Finding the courage to put their stories out into the world wasn’t easy. In our most revealing episode to date, Elizabeth talks about the vulnerability of being willing to be seen without her carefully constructed social façade in place. They spend some time exploring Lisa’s struggle to find her authentic voice for this project after so many years of writing for other people. We talk about the ways we find courage to face these fears, knowing that the way to a truly rich life involves engaging with feelings that suck. There’s also a significant amount of worship at the altar of Saint Brene Brown.
