Truth & Knowledge: Episode 39 – “The New You” In this episode, Trey Knowles explains that the old self no longer lives. Through Christ, we are no longer bound by the works of the flesh that lead to death, but now find our dwelling place in Jesus. He has freed us from captivity and transformed us into new creations—still in the same body, but renewed by His Spirit. This transformation creates conflict: the flesh seeks earthly desires while the Spirit longs for God's will. Yet, as Scripture reminds us, if we walk by the Spirit, we will not gratify the desires of the flesh. Being led by the Spirit frees us from the law of sin and death, because we have chosen obedience to Christ, crucifying the old nature and sharing in His resurrection. The New Creature desires heavenly things, surrendering earthly aims in order to live by the Spirit. Though the flesh resists, Christ now lives in us, and by faith we overcome.
