Kashus Culpepper joins Tracy Lawrence in the studio this week and takes it all the way back to the unlikely beginnings of his career in Country music. The Alabama shares how he went from singing in church to picking up a guitar while serving in the Navy and playing cover songs during his deployment in Spain. Once back home, Kashus began playing his own music in dive bars across the Mississippi Gulf Coast, developing the unmistakable blend of Country, soul, blues and rock that eventually led him to landing a record deal in Nashville. Now, with his debut album ‘Act I’ out and a packed touring schedule, Kashus opens up about navigating his rapid rise. Tracy and Kashus talk songwriting, life on the road, staying grounded and the unexpected path that brought him from Navy barracks to stages across the country.
