Female Bodies as Territories of War is the second episode in the Rivers of Blood series. Here I attempt to analyse how sexual violence against women has been historically used as a war strategy by both legal and illegal actors during the Colombian armed conflict as well as other conflicts around the world. We’ll explore the role of the patriarchy in the conception of women as sexual objects and how this perspective enables and justifies sexual violence against women, especially during times of conflict.
