Hello!
Our truly special guest this week is Thomas Frank, a hero for both me and Tyler, and the author of the new book “The Creativity Con: How Innovation Became America’s Biggest Racket.” We talk about Obama, the “innovation president,” so-called “creative class cities,” and how the idea of creativity went from an advertising idea devised in the 1950s into the preferred way to separate the working class from the professional managerial class. Who gets to be “creative” and who are the powers that be really talking about when they talk about creativity? Very lively episode and one that Tyler and I thoroughly enjoyed.
