] And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

-6] The apostles said to the Lord, “Show us how to increase our faith.” [6] The Lord answered, “If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘May you be uprooted and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you!

CSB] For we walk by faith, not by sight.

] So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.

-22] In the morning, as Jesus was returning to Jerusalem, he was hungry, [19] and he noticed a fig tree beside the road. He went over to see if there were any figs, but there were only leaves. Then he said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!” And immediately the fig tree withered up. [20] The disciples were amazed when they saw this and asked, “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?” [21] Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. [22] You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.”

] But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!

a] But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.

-24] “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” [24] The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”
