-2] When I first came to you, dear brothers and sisters, I didn’t use lofty words and impressive wisdom to tell you God’s secret plan. [2] For I decided that while I was with you I would forget everything except Jesus Christ, the one who was crucified.

] For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.

-10] If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. [9] But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. [10] If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.

] For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

] It’s your sins that have cut you off from God. Because of your sins, he has turned away and will not listen anymore.

] Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

] There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”

-10, 13] If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. [10] For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. [13] For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
