b] I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.

] Then he said, “Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own.”

GW] He said to all of them, “Those who want to come with me must say no to the things they want, pick up their crosses every day, and follow me.

-12] Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. [12] I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.

] Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.

-40] Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ [38] This is the first and greatest commandment. [39] A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ [40] The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”

] Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
