a] and giving joyful thanks to the Father,

] Has the LORD redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies.

-11] For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land of flowing streams and pools of water, with fountains and springs that gush out in the valleys and hills. [8] It is a land of wheat and barley; of grapevines, fig trees, and pomegranates; of olive oil and honey. [9] It is a land where food is plentiful and nothing is lacking. It is a land where iron is as common as stone, and copper is abundant in the hills. [10] When you have eaten your fill, be sure to praise the Lord your God for the good land he has given you. [11] “But that is the time to be careful! Beware that in your plenty you do not forget the Lord your God and disobey his commands, regulations, and decrees that I am giving you today.

-18] Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, [18] yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.

-10] Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. [10] That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

] Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

] Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to his name.
