-45] So Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. [43] But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, [44] and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else. [45] For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
] Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. 4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.
NKJV] Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.
] And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf is welcoming me.
] And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded.”
] “Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven.
] If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done.
] And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.
] let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
