It’s no surprise that Hudson has a crush on Olivia. It’s when his family asks him what it is about her that he likes, he doesn’t have a clue because he doesn’t know anything about her. After they suggest that he talks to her, he expresses his tremendous fear of having a conversation with her.  Hudson learns about courage, which is given to him like an imaginary crown on his head. And it’s with this courage he talks to her and learns all about her. And when she is feeling sad and insecure, he learns what it’s like to encourage someone and give them the courage that they might need as well.
