CHAPTER 7.

Becky, a woman in her mid-30s, has just checked herself out of a 72-hour psychiatric hold, refusing to confront the reality of her Dissociative Identity Disorder (D.I.D). Her fractured mind houses three distinct personalities: Megan, a short-fused, arrogant woman; Julie, an insecure gym addict; and Jen, a volatile, hard-drinking feminist. After shoving her meds into a drawer, Becky's evening spirals into darkness when a Tinder date goes horribly wrong, triggering Megan's rage and setting off a gruesome killing spree.

With each personality seeking vengeance in their own way—Megan's fury over an insult, Julie's quiet rage against a gym harasser, and Jen's aggression toward a predatory AA attendee—Becky's psyche fractures further as the bodies pile up. Meanwhile, Michael, a sharp but unassuming detective new to the city, begins piecing together the bloody trail. Unaware of Becky's secret, Michael unwittingly grows close to her after a chance encounter at the gym leads to coffee dates. As their relationship deepens, Michael starts noticing Becky's erratic behavior and the unsettling shifts in her personality.

They Don't Get Me! is a chilling psychological thriller that explores identity, hidden trauma, and the violent consequences of a mind pushed too far.
