I began recording conversations with my old friend Mike, because I thought much of what we talked about was pretty interesting, especially when and because we spoke of current events.I had intended to start posting these recordings in a new podcast after I had collected at least a month’s worth of our conversations. And I was going to release them in the order that I’d recorded them. However, as the one I recorded this morning largely touches upon events which should be “revealed”, shall we say, before the upcoming Midterm Elections, I decided I would release today’s recording as our Initial offering.WARNING:We often use coarse language when we speak, so this podcast is not recommended – at least at this time – for children. Nor is it recommended for those who easily take offense at vulgar language. We do not use said vulgar language simply to be vulgar, but we use it naturally, as a way of venting our frustration about what is going on in the world these days (as you shall find out, if you are not turned off by the way we speak but keep listening because you find the core of what we speak of as being interesting. So, for now, at least, I have to state that this podcast – because of the language used, has to be rated R at least, perhaps X for some of the more faint of heart among you. Of course, this presupposes that we will have some sort of substantial audience for this podcast. Mike doubts that very much, and occasionally voices that opinion; I’m more optimistic, and feel most people – especially fellow Americans – will enjoy listening to an honest, uncensored, unapologetic conversation between two friends who have mostly (though not all) similar opinions on many matters. I regret that many who might otherwise agree with our thoughts may be turned off by the language we use, mainly those who are deeply religious and who take offense at such language. I have toyed with the idea of going through all these recordings and “bleeping” those offensive words, but that would take a lot of time and effort…if we were to become a financial success, then of course it would be worth doing that!As it is, I am going to have to listen to and shorten many of our recordings, mainly because these days most people under 60 don’t really have the attention span to listen to long recordings…So wherever possible, I might cut some recordings into two or three segments, releasing them that way. Heck, I hope this little “description” isn’t too long for most of you!!! It is likely that, if this podcast succeeds, Mike and I will “clean up” our language so as to appeal to an even broader audience…and if in that future time we have to use such language, I will use some sort of Bleeper to clean it up under those circumstances. We’ll see how it goes…I hope you enjoy the podcast, which I intend to release at least once a week for the foreseeable future.
