Its Mental Health Awareness Week in the UK and in this episode, I talk about how we can change the way we see talking therapies such as counselling, therapy, and coaching for personal use to help normalise them. Throughout our history its been a taboo subject but what we do know now is that by using talking therapies and the new emerging modalities, we can start to maintain and manage our mental health with a solution focus rather than just fire fight situations and problem solving when people are really stuck. I also include some advice about how to find the right intervention for you and how to go about taking a step forward.
What you will learn:
- How changing how you see talking about mental health can give you choice and control
- How the history of psychology and mental health is changing
- What actually happens during talking therapies
- The challenge of the different interventions and knowing what help is out there
