<p>Succeeding in gaining getting a place at college is an important step. However, it is one step in the journey through higher education and there are many pathways where support is essential for students with convictions. This is central to the aims of the Unlocking Potential Project so today we are focusing on getting in, getting on and achieving your goals with our guest, Paula Kearney who will share her education journey with us.</p>
<p>Paula has a Bachelor’s Degree in Community and Youth Work and is currently studying for her Master’s Degree in the same subject. She has previously completed courses in women studies, addiction studies, leadership and development, community education and equality studies, and a Bachelor’s degree in community and youth work.</p>

Wayne's Journey through Higher Education

The Unlocking Potential Podcast highlights the effects and impacts of admissions policies and supports for people with convictions. Across the series, Dr Joe Garrihy will explore the educational journeys and experiences of students with criminal convictions including the barriers faced and the resilience of those who have achieved their goals. Contributions from stakeholders will highlight key issues including GDPR, employment, social enterprise, and Unlock UK’s work. This is essential listening for anyone with an interest in second chances, desistance, inclusive education and social justice.
