What truly measures the condition of a person’s heart?
In this reflective episode of The Unexpected Detour ♥️, Frances revisits a familiar quote from The Wizard of Oz: “A heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others.”
Although the quote once seemed meaningful, life experience has led her to question its message. Should our worth really be determined by how much love we receive from others—or by the sincerity, grace, and compassion we choose to give?
This conversation explores love, disappointment, forgiveness, faith, and the importance of healthy boundaries. Loving others does not mean accepting mistreatment, losing yourself, or giving everyone unlimited access to your life. Sometimes love extends grace, and sometimes wisdom requires us to walk away while protecting our peace.
This episode invites us to stop asking, “Who loves me?” and begin asking a more meaningful question:
What kind of heart am I becoming?
Join the conversation and share whether you agree with the Wizard’s quote or see it differently.
