The summer of 2020 saw what many have called twin pandemics: COVID-19 and a racial reckoning as seen in the streets across America. Teachers and students brought this reckoning back to schools in the fall, and the impact has been a mix of progress and division.
Our guests, a high school English teacher and one of his students, discuss everything from the recent debate around critical race theory to not just why we need to explore race in school, but the ways teachers can actually do this authentically and effectively in ways that lead to dialogue rather than division.
