I will always consider Jared as my top go to influence on retro gaming. His attitude is absolutely the best and his humbleness is incomparable.

Best gaming list ever
A fantastic list of the top 100 games of all time with a different guest each episode. It’s hosted by Jared who has the most relaxing voice, and you can hear the passion he has for games

No misses only hits
One of my favorite podcasts now- listening to Jared talk with friends about what they’re passionate about is heartwarming and fun. While the concept of a list created by 100 people with no communication and little structure sounds chaotic, it ends up working weirdly well and the final product is far more interesting then other inferior lists! This is in fact the definitive, objectively correct top 100 list.

Love the authenticity and focus
Love what Jared has done here. The structure and focus of each episode on a single game; that the way each game is discussed and reminisced upon is from a point of compassion and genuinely ties to the guest’s point in life/experiences, and not done in a gaming journalist’s review way of thinking. This isn’t the usual, “oh we got the code, I played it for 2hours, embargo is lifted, let’s make a 2hour podcast out of it.” No, this is about discussing a game I played hundreds of hours of in 7th grade. Love it!

So much kindness & enthusiasm
Jared is far and beyond the most friendly voice on my podcast feed. Sure, there’s a lot to love here in so far as video game nostalgia, insider industry chat and love for the art is concerned. But it’s Jared’s kindness and ability to hype up his guests (even when gently roasting them) that makes this my favorite show to listen to. It simultaneously makes me want to revisit old games, discover new ones (currently playing Outer Wilds off of ep 78s glowing review), and most of all - miss long chats with my friends about the things we nerd out about. Thanks for sharing your gift with the world Jared and please continue this show well past the top 100! Also, Oregon Trail is top ten territory for sure.

Fun for discovery and reminiscing!
Jared has such a fun, charming, positive podcast going here diving into the Top 100 Games as selected by an excellent variety of guests. Listening to Jared for years, he seems to be just an absolutely wonderful person and has incredible rapport with the guests. He’s also a veritable font of knowledge. I could listen to his stories and insights all day. Highly recommend this podcast for anyone remotely interested in video games and/or video game history!

A Model for Video Game Appreciation
The Top 100 Games Podcast, hosted by Jared Petty, is a fun, personal, and informative podcast that celebrates games by shining a light on individuals’ experiences and feelings in regards to a specific game of their choice. The basic conceit is that Jared invites a person from his life, usually someone involved in games media, and that person has the ability to pick the next game to be charted on the eponymous “Top 100 Games List.” Every episode, this results in a new game being discussed with reverence and firsthand accounts that are invaluable for any gamer who is interested in a game’s impact on culture and the industry upon its release and into today. I believe that this list and its rankings are not the true achievement of this show. Even Jared himself would argue that many of the games’ positions on this list are not even close to being indicative of their true place in video game history. I do not believe, however, that this was ever the primary objective upon the conception of this podcast. When all is said and done, Jared will be able to publicize the final list, and I do not think that anyone who checks out this Frankensteinian product will be able to benefit from it in any significant way. This is not a failure, because it is not the list that is the endgame of this show; it is the show itself, and the people’s voices that are featured, which is possibly the greatest compliment that I can give to a podcast. This show is a vehicle for Jared to have in-depth discussions with an extremely varied slew of guests, many of whom are his friends. Jared is unlike any other person currently or formerly involved in games media. Other podcast hosts namedrop him constantly. They often tease him, but they do so because they know that there is no one quite like Jared in the industry. Jared provides a wealth of knowledge, vivid firsthand experiences, and an exposure to a vast library of titles that makes all supposed self-proclaimed gamers blush. If gaming is a hobby or a passion, listen to this show. The firsthand experiences he is able to share as an individual who actually grew up alongside the media of video games is truly unique and fascinating. The perspectives of his guests and their enthusiasm for the game of their choice will engage any listener. As stated earlier, although the podcast is named after the list that Jared and his guests are creating, the list is not the real reason to listen to this podcast. Instead, it is to learn about a specific game’s impact on culture and game development. It is to hear firsthand accounts from people who have a different history with games than your own. It is to have listeners’ curiosities piqued by titles that they have skipped or have never known. It is to hear someone share his love of gaming with people who are important to him. This is the highpoint of gaming: sharing your own personal experiences with people who are important to you. Most gamers know how great it is to discuss their own unique experiences with others, especially when those other individuals have something to share in return. Jared’s podcast preserves these dialogues, and shares them with other gamers, so that we too can celebrate our passion and the passion of other gamers. A quick personal message to Jared: Thank you, Jared! I look forward to every episode. Your candor and your reverence of games is really special. I would have never heard of games like To The Moon, Samurai Gunn, or Chu Chu Rocket, and I am grateful for your recommendations. Also, be sure to find me on Twitter when you need to discuss Halo 3 for the number one position on the list. The Halls of Greatness will shine bright when that game takes its rightful spot on your list.

Great podcast!
This is a great podcast. Jared is so passionate and very knowledgeable about so many games and gaming history. Even if I’m not familiar with the game, it’s still fun hearing the passion and excitement in both the host and the guest for that episode.

Amazing For Fans of Classic Games
If you grew up playing video games in the 90’s, this is an awesome podcast to listen to! Jared is so witty and develops an amazing rapport with all of this guests, and his knowledge of classic video games is seemingly endless. I received my NES in 1988 and grew up playing video games, so this podcast brings back so many great memories. Jared is engaging, entertaining, and educational. I really feel so blessed to have men like him in the gaming community to put out quality content, rather than “hot takes.” Well done, Jared!

A love letter to people who love games.
Jared spends time with people he loves under the guise of hosting a gaming podcast. The podcast dives deep into gaming lore, gaming passion, and the people who love games. Listening will expand the breadth and depth of your gaming appreciation and give you a glimpse behind the curtain of some of gaming culture’s prominent personalities.

Literally my new favorite podcast
If you're an IGN fan or Kinda Funny fan then you know about Jared Petty. Super knowledgable and funny. What I love about this podcast is that it gets super nerdy about the game that they're talking about. I love knowing they do such a deep dive into a game. I've never owned am n64 so I've never played a Zelda game outside of a link to the past (I own a snes classic). Listening to the Majora's mask episode made me so interested in the game that I went and bought one.

equal to pockets full of soup
Jared has such a wealth of video game history inside his head that he’s always a joy to listen to. But besides his fascination with the past, he is also curious of the present, and his genuine interest in his guests’ and their opinions—even when he doesn’t agree—makes him a fantastic interviewer. Jared’s podcasts are always full of heart, positivity, and lots of information. One of my favorite things Jared has made. Keep it up, man.

Poignant nostalgia and whimsical fun.
Listening to Jared guide his co-hosts through their experiences with their favorite games, I can’t help but think back on all of my favorites and why exactly they were important to me. This podcast serves more as a collection of memories than just a list, and I love that. Jared has a way with words that borders on scholastic, but always remains relevantly emotional and passionate. An easy listen for me.

So great!
Man i love Jared Petty! He is so eloquent and i love the depth he brings to videogames conversations. He has so much knowledge that he’s able to really beef up the guests arguments. Highly recommend this podcast if you enjoy really intellectual discussions about videogames and their impact.

This will be great if....
This will turn out to be great as long as he also talks about xbox games. If this turns out to be like IGN or kind of funny the xbox will get no love. IGN and kind of funny are totally biased in favor of Nintendo and Sony, maybe all internet talk is true and they are paid money by them.
