Ethan returned on the hit CBS show "Survivor: Winners at War" (airing Wednesdays at 8/7c on CBS), only to be voted out in the third episode. Since his first "Survivor" win, Ethan has battled and beat cancer TWICE, and became a world-renowned motivational speaker, author and humanitarian. This former soccer pro made his way back on the hit CBS reality show for the 20th Anniversary edition of the groundbreaking competition series. This season's two - hour premiere of "Survivor: Winners at War" drew 6.7 million total viewers. This season united the most memorable, heroic, and celebrated champions from the past two decades in the biggest battle in the show's history, as the series' best strategists of all time fight to earn the title of Sole Survivor again with an increased prize of $2 million - the largest jackpot in reality show history. In 2001, Ethan won $1,000,000 on CBS's third season of "Survivor: Africa." Winning was the springboard to his entrepreneurship, social purpose and advocacy. Making true to a promise he made at the Final Tribal Council, Ethan used his winnings to found "Grassroot Soccer," an adolescent health organization that leverages the power of soccer to educate, inspire, and mobilize at-risk youth in developing countries to overcome their greatest health challenges, live healthier, more productive lives, and be agents for change in their communities. In the years after his win, Ethan's story went from SURVIVOR WINNER to CANCER SURVIVOR. In 2009, he was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer called CD20+ Hodgkin's lymphoma. After undergoing several stem cell treatments and chemotherapy, he went into remission, only for his cancer to return. For a second time, Ethan battled the cancer and won, thanks to another stem-cell transplant and an experimental drug - he's been living cancer-free since 2012. Throughout his battle with cancer, Ethan served as a National Ambassador for Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C), and has since harnessed his industry connections in television to create SURVIVOR SU2C, through which donations are made to cancer research through "Survivor".

It's finale night, and as are the rest of us, Jeff Probst is quarantining and therefor hosting from his garage. We've come a long way in season 40 - the craziest season yet, but we have an enormous 3 hour finale to get through so let the fun begin. First up is the battle back from Edge of Extinction where, unsurprisingly Natalie wins her way back. The only surprising thing was how much she struggled - good thing she had three advantages going in. We then power through three tribal councils. Michelle wins the first immunity of the night and forms a quick alliance with Natalie who still has a hidden immunity from the Edge. Tony can't get his alliance on the same page to split the votes and when Natalie plays her immunity both Tony and Ben are forced to play theirs, resulting in no votes counting at all! In the re-vote, Denise heads to jury. Going into the second immunity challenge, Natalie finds a hidden immunity idol guaranteeing her safety yet again. This time, Tony won immunity and Ben gave Sarah permission to vote him out. Natalie played her idol and Sarah - to the surprise of Tony, voted Ben who went to Jury. Down to the final four and the final immunity challenge and who wins yet again? Natalie! She chooses Tony to battle Sarah in the fire making challenge and Tony is victorious. The final three head to the final tribal council where they plead their case to the jury and in the end Tony wins the two million dollar prize in a landslide 12-4-0 (Tony, Natalie, Michelle).

Jeremy and Michelle find themselves on the bottom, but Sarah doesn't fully trust Nick. Cops 'R' Us come together to strategize against Nick, but after he wins immunity, it's time to re-think the vote. Ben attempts to play both sides, tasking Jeremy with getting Michelle's 50/50 advantage. Nick finds himself in the middle of the vote and is ready to make a move. At the first tribal, Michelle plays her advantage for herself, and Nick sticks with Cops 'R' Us, sending Jeremy to the edge. Back at camp, Nick tries to repair his relationship with Michelle, and an 'advantage' from the edge brings them together. At the next challenge, Ben has a disadvantage played against him, and Michelle wins immunity. After the challenge, Nick and Michelle propose voting out Ben, but Tony wants to vote Denise, and Sarah still doesn't trust Nick. In the end, Nick's loyalty was questioned and he was voted out. It's the last day Edge of Extinction is in play, but who will get back in the game!?

After tribal, Sarah is irate with Tony for taking out her other close ally, Sophie. Tony is apologetic, and it appears Sarah is still willing to work with him.
At the Edge of Extinction, the group has an extreme endurance challenge: the first six players to collect 20 coconuts from the other side of the island will earn two fire tokens (leaving five players with nothing). The challenge is brutal, and Boston Rob sustains a bloody injury to his elbow in a fall, but completes the task even after he has already lost the challenge in a show of pride and respect for the game.
Back at camp, players are looking for a hidden immunity idol, knowing that Sophie was voted out with an idol in her pocket at last tribal. Ben finds the idol with Tony present.
At the immunity challenge, players must hold up their hand tethered to a bucket of water above them, while standing on a small beam. Several players, including Kim, willingly step out of the challenge for peanut butter and cookies. Tony and Denise win, and each earn two fire tokens.
Back at camp, Kim attempts to rally the other players to take aim at Tony. Because he won immunity, the group agrees to target Jeremy. Ben reveals the plan to Tony, who convinces Ben, Jeremy, Nick, and Sarah to target Kim. A tense tribal ensues, with last minute whispering. No idols or advantages are played. Kim is sent to the edge.

After tribal, Tony immediately goes to work finding a hidden immunity idol. At the Edge of Extinction, Nathalie and Parvarti come across an extortion advantage, or should we say disadvantage, that they play against Tony for six fire tokens. Unwilling to risk the chance of not participating in the immunity challenge or giving up his vote, Tony utilizes his social game to get the tokens, allowing him to walk away with his second individual immunity win. Back at camp, Kim and Denise did not want to be on the wrong side of the numbers and agreed to vote out Jeremy. However, Tony felt he had been patient long enough, and decided to flip the game around and blindside Sophie. At tribal council, Tony's plan worked, pulling off an epic 4-3-2 vote, flushing Sophie's idol, and sending her to the edge.

It's the loved one episode and for the first time in Survivor history, entire families were able to surprise the contestants. It was an emotional reunion, but there was still a twist. There would be no challenge, but instead, an afternoon filled with love. At edge of extinction, the contestants were in for a surprise of their own when their loved ones visited. At the immunity challenge, it was a game of patience and Tony's new gameplay strategy is paying off. Back at camp, with 10 people left in the game, the vote was more important than ever. It was 5 against 5 but with Jeremy feeling the heat, playing his safety without power advantage may be his only option. At tribal, Jeremy chose to leave, Sarah played her steal a vote, and Kim played an idol for Denise. Unfortunately, it was Tyson who was the target, and with a successful split vote, Tyson was sent back to the edge.

After tribal, Nick and Michelle once again find themselves on the bottom. Over on the edge, Parvarti and Dani find an advantage. Setting the price at 4 fire tokens, they sell it to Michelle, who now has a 50/50 shot at immunity. At the reward challenge, Sarah decides to give her reward to Nick, but her moment of kindness led to whispers around camp about her intentions. The immunity challenge was a test of balance, and it was Kim who outlasted everyone. Back at camp, complete chaos ensued as plans were constantly changing and different names were being brought up. However, it was Adam and Nick who felt most vulnerable. At tribal council, in a desperate move to save himself, Adam tried to play an emblem that was attached to the podium, thinking it was a hidden immunity idol. Unfortunately, it was not an idol, and Adam was sent home. It was worth a shot!

After days of battling it out on the Edge of Extinction, it's finally time for the survivors to take their chance at getting back in the game. It was a close race between Boston Rob and Tyson, but thanks to some peanut butter, Tyson had the extra energy needed to turn out a victory. With Tyson back, a new division defines the game: Higher profile vs. lower profile. At the immunity challenge, two necklaces are up for grabs, and it's Denise and Jeremy that dominate the first round. Back at camp, Nick, Wendell, and Adam's names were brought up for elimination, but Jeremy wanted to save Wendell to be able to work with him in the future. In the end, Jeremy made a strategic retreat and Wendell was voted out.

On Edge of Extinction Island, the contests are joined by Sandra, who made a shocking decision. The queen decided the edge was not for her and raised the Survivor flag, ending her legendary legacy. At Yara, Adam is becoming increasingly paranoid someone has an idol. During the challenge, it came down to a mere second between two tribes, but in the end, Yara and Dakal were saved, sending Sele back to tribal council. Feeling he can't be trusted, Wendell quickly became a target, but Nick and Michelle grew nervous about Yul's strategic gameplay. In the end, Nick and Michelle decided to save Wendell, sending Yul to the edge.

Back at the Yara tribe, Adam finds himself feeling like he's at the bottom. On Edge of Extinction, Tyson finds a hidden advantage, an idol nullifier, which he sells to Parvarti. Instead of saving his fire tokens, Tyson uses his currency to buy peanut butter, to help regain his energy. At the challenge, only one tribe could win immunity, and that tribe was Yara, sending Dakal and Sele to tribal council. Wendell offers Parvati a deal, but Parvati uses that deal to try to sabotage Wendell's game. Sandra offers Denise a hidden immunity idol in exchange for fire tokens. In the end, no deal was made, Parvarti was sent home, and Denise used Sandra's idol to send her home in an epic blindside.
