<p>DRIVE Boston Executive Director and SEIU 1199 political organizer Darrin Howell years ago helped Darrell get the Strongest Link program started in the Massachusetts Department of Corrections. In this episode, Darrin discusses how he escaped a life of crime, got involved in the community, and how his efforts with Darrell helped spark change in the prison system.</p>

Darrell Jones was wrongfully imprisoned for 32 years for a crime he had nothing to do with. Towards the end of his time behind bars, he got permission to start a first-of-its-kind inmate program called “The Strongest Link” — where civic leaders would come talk to inmates and hear their stories. Now free from prison and completely exonerated, Darrell has returned to The Strongest Link project, now as a podcast for the public. Each month, guests ranging from activists to public officials, former inmates and family members to musical artists will join Darrell to talk about the issues surrounding criminal justice, mass incarceration and cycles of violence.
