As cult heroes go, Michele Di Piedi is up there when it comes to Sheffield Wednesday. Charming, enigmatic, the former Owls striker was the very first signing of the post-Premier League era and scored a series of wondergoals in his short time with the club.

Now 41 and still playing down in Gibraltar, the Italian stallion spoke to The Star's Alex Miller about his memories of his time in Sheffield, from which restaurants he frequented to training ground battles with Des Walker and THAT Birmingham celebration.
