On this episode of the Shepherdcast, we continue our podcast’s first ever Spotlight on Outreach series, where we will sit down with representatives from both outreach groups at our church and nonprofits in our community to talk about their ministry and, if the spirit moves you, how you can help them.
This week, Jacob Schandel sits down with Dorothy “Dottie” Scott to talk about three ministries at our church. First, they discuss our long-running Barney Bear Ministry, where members of the church can take stuffed bears to those in need of prayer and comfort. Next, they discuss the Prayer Shawl Ministry, which makes shawls for those in need of comfort which we, as a congregation, say a blessing over. Lastly, we talk about a newer ministry at the church, which takes recycled grocery bags and turns them into mats which the homeless can use for comfort. They discuss also how, if the spirit moves you, you can support all three ministries. At the end, Dottie touches on a few other projects that build from what these three ministries are doing. You can learn more about the prayer shawls and Barney bears at www.sotvchurch.com/prayers.
We thank Dottie Scott again for taking time out of her schedule to come onto the podcast this week to talk about these ministries at our church. This podcast was hosted and produced by Jacob H.
