This week, Brian Smeenk is the President of the Merit Award Bursary Program, which provides opportunities and resources to secondary and postsecondary students through their mentorship programs, bursaries, and other services. Brian shares his experience working with Merit Award and how it was launched in the first place. This conversation goes deeper into the importance of supporting students through their academic careers and having alumni come back to amplify these messages to the next generation. I'm currently a member of the Merit Award Alumni Council, and it's great to go back into these schools and share the work the Merit Award Bursary Program is providing.
