Love Ryen. Love life advice. Way too much Mcshay

3 Head Coaches from Lob City
Love the pod, great interview with Austin today! The way you framed a way for him to talk up his awareness was elite. Question: what odds would you give the chances that Cp3, Reddick, and Rivers could become coaches in the NBA someday?

The absolute best
If I could only listen to one pod, it would be Ryen’s. Depth and content always amazing.

Sound is Off/Bad
There is an issue with Mic or Room for recording. Sound quality is poor and am less likely to listen.

More solo ry
Thanks for all the hard work! More solo pods!! Less guests.

Release the France Tapes!
Love the show in general but these travelogues are gold. Heard Ryen mention he has some unreleased material from a trip to France - let the people have it!!

Great Show
Great Pod and guests. George was engaging and fun. I really enjoyed the book review and conversation. Great Job

Napoleon so much more interesting than James Harden and the Clippers

Long time, disappointed listener
The show is great, although I’ve been listening so long I wonder if anyone new discovers it or are we all aging together as happens with bands. I listen to every episode but the amount of poor editing is getting progressively worse. Can we please clean up the editing? I used to think Kyle was bad and he would only have an obvious editing boner 1-2x’s per episode. Now that we have expendable crew members, we have 5-10 mistakes an episode, if we’re lucky. I never remember one mistake when we were downloading podcasts before RR even had his name on the show. Clean it up, please?

Life Advice
Life Advice 5 stars Rest of podcast - ehhhhhh kinda depends on guest. Never hurts to skip to the best part though

Awful interviews
Ryen is a legendarily terrible interviewer. When interviewing a guest, rather than giving his thoughts and leading to a question, he chooses to ask a question and then immediately begin answering it himself, usually leading to a long rambling monologue that gets more and more rapidly paced. He forces his guest to listen to his long rambling answer to his own question and it’s a horrible technique. People that have conversations like that are really difficult to converse with. It’s a terribly narcissistic quality.

Ryen, you need to become a full time bro sociologist.
Been listening to you and SVP, you and Kanell, you and Bill, but overall mostly YOU for 10+ years. My favorite (because it’s the most personal) episode series so far. Do it again (if you’re willing to sacrifice the privacy of another vacation).

Great content, Horrible listening experience
Love RR’s monologues and interviews. Life advice still a contender for top pod segments of this era. But the editing make the show borderline unlistenable, specifically on Apple Podcasts. How is The Ringer in the “upper echelon” of podcast platforms, yet they can’t hire a producer who listens to the show and can make sure RR’s segments aren’t completely cut off mid-sentence, or do the weird jumping around thing like you’re listening to a CD in an 2006 Escalade with the bass on full tilt. PLEASE just hire an editor for Apple Pods is it that much to ask for? Less time bellying up at Frolic, more time in the studio.

Incredible content. Post hike section was elite.

Great travel stories.

Great interview
I have no interest at all in racing but the conversation with Denny Hamlin was really interesting.

Todd McShay can’t put together a thought
Ryen time stamps everything in the description which makes it easy to skip over all of the NBA drama and smut he so foolishly covers! It makes it easy to skip to sections with his mediocre guests

Great Pod
Always interesting and insightful, I definitely appreciate the sports analysis. However, Life Advice and the banter between Steve, Kyle (Talent btw), and Ryen has quickly become my favorite part of the pod.

Been here since Carl gave out picks. Nailed it with this one.

Wemby Slander
Tell your boy Simmons that Wemby leads all first year players in points, rebounds, blocks, and steals. He is ROY. Besides Chet is a 2nd year coach player. He plays next to an mvp.

Good pod
Terrible co-hosts. I’d imagine the other two guys have an iq, combined, barely over Ryen’s.

Great Pod
Ryen is a thoughtful host who does his homework and shows it (in a good way). I enjoy all the segments, especially life advice, which has a cult following amongst me and my friends. Must listen pod.

No more Willie Colon
Why is he on all the time? Dude has terrible analysis and stories are fugazi. Did he pay to get on? Still love the show.

Nothing special
If you want good NBA takes, listen to Nate Duncan. Funny takes on sports, listen to PMT on barstool. I don’t really get the trend here with people listening to him. Just an hour and a half of blabbering with below average guests coming on every week (Todd mcshay?? Typical espn lib who provides no value). Then he has these other random guests come on to give “live advice” every show? Just a bunch on random people and guests blabbering about nothing new or funny…

Awesome pod
One of the best pods. Especially the solo travel ones. I hope we get more!

Sir Rudy !!!
I’m a big fan of Rudy! Sorry, SIR Rudy!

Trent Dilfer
Unbelievable interview with Trent. I lived in the Tampa area in 1995 & Trent was horrible as the qb for Tampa. The humility & truth he shared about how bad he was & what he did to help provide to Sam wyche’s exit was so honest. Trent has come so far and guess what he is still learning & growing at the games of life & football. Best of luck moving forward to him & ryen keep up the great work.

Nephew Kyle is a legend

Next level
Love the emphasis on College Football this season Ryen. I know it hasn't been definitive but you’ve admitted to liking Saturdays more then Sundays and I’m right there with yea. Since Fitzpatrick couldn’t answer, 10 year treasury yield will hit 2.5 in 2024. A major deflationary crash is on the horizon. Although the supply is a real worry, deficit spending out of control

Editing
Does anyone listen to the final version before sending it out to the world?? Seems like every episode has issues. Starting to get really annoying.
hkphooey2019
“It just is”
Saying “it just is” after every point you make doesn’t confirm that you’re right. Its just obnoxious..…it just is Also, less sir rudy please. It’s nothing personal, but if his accent had a face, I’d punch it Other than that. 5 stars

Terrible editing
Love the show, been a fan for a long time, but the editing of the show has gone out of control. Multiple mistakes. Repeats multiple parts of the show. Very unprofessional.

Always 5 Stars except…..
When Kanell is on. That’s a skip for me.

Some guests are better than others
Willie Colon is a fantastic recurring guest.

Best in Class
Ryan is incredibly knowledgeable particularly in college football and NBA and he does the work and brings in renowned category experts. Also he used to have authors - I bought and read all the books. Great regular guests and great interviewer and can go toe to toe with all of the above. Obviously he is highly respected in sports media for good reason. We may be due for more new creative content like Iceland vacations and life advice may have run its course. Too many cooks. Normally Ryan gets tired of a topic before the audience. There may be management / ownership influence to broaden the audience.

Gives me wood
Not many shows make me laugh while simultaneously giving me proper wood. I don’t miss a minute of this show while I drive around looking for my next victim.

East coast bros unite
East coast bros unite. The end of the show life advise / betting clowns are a prompt to move to the next pod.

Good show but….
Can anyone on this show stop say a sentence without using “like” every other word in it?
dontmillenialshameme
NBA Minutiae
What % of this audience really wants Tales from the Couch? Just feels like you could dive into the NBA without it feeling like your proving ground for how much basketball you watch. It’s a brutal 10 minutes.

More mcshay
Mcshay is best weekly guest since Chris long was on every Monday. Would love for segments to be longer and less life advice which at this point seems to have run it’s course. Need to find a replacement for Willie Colon on Mondays.
rough2435
McShay cuts everyo……….
Dear Todd…maybe let guys finish a sentence once in a while? Sure, I could add that this is especially true when you’re a guest in someone else’s home…but it’s really context neutral. Deli, library, car dealership…wherever. Doesn’t matter. Nobody ever wants to deal with the person who perpetually confuses ‘listening’ with ‘just waiting to talk again.’

So good
Love the highly informative NBA coverage. And Life Advice is so hilarious it may deserve a podcast of its own.
