In late February 2020 John Mcbride and Frank Kennedy were invited to chat with retired NBA referee Joe Crawford at his suburban Philadelphia home. He arrived at his home shortly before us having completed an overnight assignment in Indianapolis in his newest role of observer and teacher of the NBA officials .Sitting at his dining room table he pauses video chip viewing laptop to share wisdom experience and the stress the condors and camaraderie of Officals. Joining us at the chat table was Stella the playful and frisky family dog , cradled in Joe’s arm as he talked about controlling games,one’s temper and crew misstep.
