-38 is the Scripture behind the sermon, “In Return for our Life.” What can it mean to deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow Jesus? First borrowing from some examples found in Black History, our preacher friend then goes on to talk about turning our often self-focused will over into the loving will of a loving God. What we give (to Jesus) in return for our life is, of course, our life. He gave His life for us. This is spiritual growth, and examples are given.
