Dr. Logan Noone & Dr. Joon Chun review a challenging emergency room discharge case. Sadly, this patient presented to the ER after voicing suicidal statements, and attempted to jump out of a moving vehicle after a breakup with her boyfriend. While in the ER, this patient denied suicide ideation and plan. This patient also contracted for safety upon discharge. Unfortunately, the patient ended up completing suicide, and died roughly 5 hours after her discharge. These doctors discuss what went wrong in this case, and what we can learn.
