Esther Belin’s interviews have been a breath of fresh air and ancient winds! Fascinating poets!
So happy to have them to listen to 2 and three times.

What We Need Now
We need words. Language shines a light on humanity. This podcast brings clarity to the world of the poet. In the uncertainty of our days, what we need now is having a place to reflect on words. Thanks.

Anything is poetry these days
I usually listen to modern poetry as a discipline, a learning experience, not for enjoyment. However, with this podcast, I find myself skipping too many episodes.

Listen to Episode 300!!!
Episode 300 with Sonia Sanchez and Tongo Eisen-Martin blew me away. I was planning to listen for 20 minutes and then go get myself another cup of coffee, but I found myself unable to get up until I had experienced the whole conversation. It is a beautiful poetic expression of Black American life. Thank you!

Better Than The Magazine
I read the transcript or partial transcript of a recent podcast in my issue of Poetry Magazine. Note: I am a new subscriber to the magazine and now, the podcast. Then, I was listening to the very same transcript with a completely different and much improved appreciation. The interviews I listened to are deep and satisfying. The written version - not so much. Maybe I like to hear conversation or poetry read aloud. Clearly a transcript isn’t poetry or even good reading - for me.

Great Discussions of Great Poems
Christina, Don, and Lindsay offer personal, intelligent, and inviting reads of some of the best poetry being published today. Their conversations are organic in a way that’s a delight to listen to. Another great Poetry Foundation podcast

I love listening to this podcast on the subway omw to work. Sometimes before bed. I love listening to poets reading their own words + their rhythms and hear what others felt. It inspires me to feel big and keep writing.

Used to be better but still ok
The show was better with Christian Wiman as host, and in the half hour format. I like Lindsay, although she doesn’t get many words in compared to Don, who really goes overboard in some of his poem descriptions. I have rolled my eyes many times while listening to him,and I feel there are times he comes across as disingenuous or too polite to criticize anyone harshly. Still, they do get an occasional great poem/poet on the show, and their back catalog has a lot of gems.

Meaningful discussions about the art and craft of poetry
This podcast is very interesting. Hosts introduce listeners to poets both new to the magazine as well as more familiar names. Some insightful discussions about the poetry and writings in the current issue of the magazine. Reminds me of classroom discussions of poems read. It inevitably leads to a greater experience and understanding of styles, techniques and voices. It prompts me to feel inspired and leads to a feeling that I want to write more .

With each podcast episode I discover at least two or three marvelous poets I hadn't heard of before (ok so I don't really read much contemporary poetry). And the commentators draw such lovely shapes in the air with their language. I feel really grateful to have access to this for free.

Great podcast!
Great poets, smart interviewers who complement each other very well.

Exactly what a poet needs
I have searched for a podcast that read great poetry, discussed the poems in meaningful ways, dialogued with the poets and also fostered great discussion on the craft: This is what every poet needs and what these podcasts provide. I would recommend these to anyone interested in poetry and writing.

Great podcast for poetry and conversation
I love this podcast and listen to each podcast several times throughout the month. The relaxed format provides context and the poem is the highlight, but we hear small sections of the poem later during the discussion to illustrate chosen moments or effects. With every hearing I feel I hear the poem better. A great way to join a welcoming wonderfully experienced poetry-loving conversation.

Expansive and Entertaining
I truly admire how much the podcast enhances and expands Poetry Magazine. Even if you are not a subscriber to the magazine, the podcast gives great access to contemporary poetry. In addition to its usefulness it is highly entertaining. I enjoy the hosts' comments and I love hearing the poets reading their work. It adds immediate interaction and connects poet and audience. Please keep it going! Thanks for what you have given us so far.

Entertaining!
This podcast is exceptionally interesting to those interested in poetry. It discusses things about poetry and the poets themselves. Overall, it has a nice atmosphere of discussion, but if you are seeking a poetry podcast, this is not a podcast for you. I suggest looking up the NPR: Poetry Off the Shelf Podcast if you are interested in poetry readings.
