This is not a how to podcast. I listened to half of the first 50 podcasts and it’s 80% fluff and very little actual info. The podcast had no direction, heard about “show notes” for hours before ever mentioning how to upload a podcast or what site to host it on. No one cares about notes. It’s clear to me he made this podcast for “the community” he mentions every 10 minutes, and constantly mentioning of some kid named Shawn West that people outside the community don’t know. I’ve googled his name with every variation of Sean and couldn’t find anything about him. If the show was about helping people start a podcast it’s a failure. But it seemed more about impressing this Shawn kid and trying to fit in with the “community”. I found another show and got more info in 3 episodes than I did in 25 of this one. He even says, don’t waste your listeners time, which is exactly what 80% of this show is.

Sometimes, the algorithm gods recommend the right channel at the right time. I was looking for Logic Pro X tips and discovered Aaron’s YouTube channel which also led me here. I feel like I struck gold, and really happy to find Aaron sharing his knowledge.

Huge fan since the prior versions of his podcasting series. So far it’s helped me figure out a number of things about my podcasting ideas and getting out there to produce something. Looking forward to more episodes and learnings.

Big fan, super excited to hear that you’re back. I used to listen to pretty much every episode of the podcast dude, back when I was in the early process of launching my own podcast, The Seatown Funk. Since then, I’ve managed to avoid contracting Covid, but I was definitely stricken by podfading, from which I’m hoping I’ve now finally recovered from. In that regard we’re in similar boats, tho as such a relative noob, i worry that my road back to relevance might be a bit more arduous than yours will be. Anyways, big fan, subscriber and devoted listener, thanks so much for all you do and the content you put out. The podcasting space is a better, richer place because of you and your thoughtful, genuine content, and anyone out there reading this review that’s considering launching their own podcast would be well-served to subscribe, listen and put to use any advice or insights gleaned from the show. I can appreciate that the podcast dude is a musician. So am I. But his obsession with audio quality made me look for another podcast to reach me how to podcast. Even if I came to this podcast exclusively for advice about audio, it wouldn’t be useful for that because, from the very beginning, his advice assumes that the listener already knows a whole lot about the subject (more than I know and I actually was a professional musician for a while). I couldn’t follow it. And he went on for episode after episode. I want to produce a podcast with great audio. But even after listening to several episodes I am still not sure how to do that because his advice was so technical. And his snobbery on the topic was off-putting. Sorry.

In the first episode you said to do the podcast for 2 years and not expect anything from it. Well here I am I know I will get a benefit out of this. Thank you for sticking with it

I think this podcast is OK (2.5 stars), but as an audio professional and DJ since the 80's I believe Aaron's advice is too general and not specific enough to the art of broadcasting and podcasting. It's painfully obvious to me that Aaron is just an amateur trying to ride the coattails of someone by the name of Sean Wes (who?) to capitalize on the "learn how to podcast" niche. Why is Aaron sending listeners to Pensado's Place to learn how to mix? Dave Pensado will leave you confused for weeks. I thought Aaron's job was to teach the listener how to mix a podcast? Although Aaron promotes creating an awesome podcast, his show lacks energy and is far from awesome. Dude, drink some coffee and sound more energetic. Of course, I'm from a generation of big, loud radio personalities who would entertain us every morning 4 hours a day, 5 days a week. Maybe I'm just setting the bar too high. Anyways, I'm sorry that this is the first non-5 star review out of 61 (hmmm, something seems suspicious there), but constructive criticism is always healthy.

This show was extremely helpful in starting my podcast. I was fortunate enough to meet Aaron and he helped me set up my Logic template for recording episodes, which was insanely helpful. But more than that, he graciously and openly shares his process, principles, and passion for making podcasts. This is the recource on how to create a successful podcast you've been looking for.

I've binge-listened to The Podcast Dude ever since I discovered him early this week. Practical, down-to-earth, easy to follow & understand, extremely informative. I'm learning a ton of stuff and now starting a podcast seems a lot more accessible.

I have had a Podcast for 2 years now, and I’ve listened to most of the other How to Podcast guys. While they are enjoyable, they veer off on topics that don’t interest me. I use Garageband, and I never hear that mentioned. Thank you for including that, and your awesome tips on production. I’m going to listen to your entire back catalogue. I wish I had the editing ability you have, your Podcasts are seamless. Great, great job, Aaron!

Aaron dives deep on podcasting from every angle. It is simply amazing the topics Aaron discusses; they are not always technically minded, which a lot of podcasts, about podcasting are. Aaron provides a real start-to-finish approach, and the value is overflowing from each episode. This podcast even has things for those who may not yet want or have a podcast; the practical tips can be used in a broad range of situations, and Aaron inspires confidence in his authority on each subject. It all starts with writing - such a classic.

I stumbled on this podcast and have been very happy with all the great info I am getting. Since I am working on my own podcast, I am seeking out any and all helpful shows, Aaron has just about everything you can think of. Plus, he responds promptly to email which is nice these days :-) I definitely recommend.

I have listened to a heap load of people on how exactly to podcast. And Aaron is by far one of the best. This podcast has jumped to the top of my list of podcasts that I just HAVE TO listen to every time a new episode comes out. I wish I had listened to this podcast before I came out with my own podcast (The FST Trading Podcast). Would have made things so much simpler and I would not have struggled so hard. Brilliant!!!

I’m a relative newcomer to the podcast world and have really gotten hooked. I’ve always wanted to be a published writer and have written for years, but just for myself. Many people have told me I should start a blog. Also, I’ve been helping my wife with her online business which has mostly been promoted on Instagram. I want to help her get a blog started.
