The future of Christianity must look past a God who cares almost exclusively about the morals of the self, demonstrated in an overblown fury over the lack of morals in our neighbor. And it must move beyond the bland self-deprecation that limits creativity, imagination, and ingenuity in the public sphere in favor of a false humility.

The Pilgrim House is a community for progressive wanderers, people who have been burned by the institutional church and their focus on properties, profits, and partisan politics as the hallmark of what it means to be Christian. It’s a community that opposes all the loyalties to empires in its practice of sacrament and love. It is a place to re-imagine Jesus in the way of peace.
