On the show tonight, so begins with the news that Aaron Rodgers was finally traded to the New York Jets. It’s the Jordan Love era in Green Bay, and in North Jersey, Jets fans think they have a change at making the playoffs (and more). Joe wonders how crazy would it be that Rodgers plays around 64% of the plays (Green Bay needs A-Rod to play a minimum of 65% of snaps played to convey the 2024 pick to be a first rounder instead of a second), gets injured and Zach Wilson saves the day? Not happening, but you never know! Someone started something on social media on Monday that Will Levis is telling friends and family that he’s going to be Carolina’s first round pick on Thursday, which turned his odds to be the first overall pick from 40/1 to 4/1. Joe looked and he thinks he couldn’t get action for that wager because he lives in PA, but he just wanted to see what would come up this morning. Oh well! Ima Udoka is going to Houston, after the Rockets did their due diligence and did their research on the incident that led to Udoka’s suspension and dismissal from the Celtics. Houston is an attractive stop, believe it or not, with the chance of getting the #1 pick in the draft, salary cap space, and having young talent. Joe wanted Udoka here in Philly, but the Sixers won their first round matchup. Joel Embiid was “officially” diagnosed with an LCL strain today. Joe thinks the Boston/Atlanta going to at least game 6 could benefit Embiid and the Sixers, BUT we will have all kinds of rust vs. rest questions for the semifinal matchup. Bryan Reynolds became the Pittsburgh Pirates first $100 million man. He signed a 8-year $106 million dollar extension today which Joe thinks is a move that doesn’t break the bank for Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh has a good foundation with young players making it to the majors, and veterans like Carlos Santana, Rich Hill, and the return of Andrew McCutcheon to guide the young players and teach them how to win. Finally, Joe recaps Monday’s Page McKenney Stakes at Parx Racing, as the unofficial horse of the Bleacher Brothers Sports Network, Uncle Ernie ran and lost by a nose in the 7-furlong race. Joe thinks Uncle Ernie may be better at 3/4 of a mile, but he has won at 7/8 of a mile. Joe will be getting updates, so we’ll see where he goes next, whether it’s staying in Pennsylvania, or going elsewhere in the mid-Atlantic region like Monmouth Park, Delaware Park, New York, or elsewhere.
