Show notes
The Taxman cometh, and for some people he takes away as we inched towards the midnight deadline on the East coast. Joe had a weird day, but also felt the need to channel his inner Tony Bruno so Joe cometh with a rant that he hadn’t had before, at least not with this ferocity. Joe made an example of Google on stream tonight as they pulled a Breeders’ Cup blog post from 2019. Yes, three and a half years later! Joe went through all the guidelines that Google has, and does not see ANY reason, other than some woke idiot who saw the word “Juvenile” and thought I was promoting something nefarious which couldn’t be farther from the truth. Mount Saint Tony Bruno blew with what Joe thought about Google! Then Joe made fun of himself, as he had a dumb incident this morning. Joe wanted to make fun of the fact that the grass went from dead to US Open rough conditions in a matter of days and wanted to make a note of it on social media to get a laugh. Well, a confused woman got out of her car wondering where a certain address was. Well, Joe wasn’t with it and told her the address didn’t exist until he realized it was down the street one block. Yup, facepalm city! Then Joe went to the store. He had to get a couple of things and used a credit card. Joe goes over his credit limit on the card. Wait, Joe knows he has the credit on the one card. Well, he does, because he used the wrong card! Then Joe got to the meat of the show which he had planned before this morning. Jalen Hurts got paid, and also had some “hardware” removed from his ankle. Who knew there was some “hardware” in there the last few years? Damar Hamlin was cleared to play, and good for him that he’s cleared after that scary incident in Cincinnati right after the New Year. We can’t wish him nothing but the best as he continues his career. MLB had a phantom rainout on Sunday as San Francisco and Detroit for delayed then postponed for anticipated weather that never occurred, just like in Philly. Joe sees that this is going to happen a lot this year with 85% of the games being until MLB control to play or not because of round robin play. There are new rules in the Atlantic League, which is an independent league that is a partner league of MLB, which means they can test proposed rule changes in their league. Some rules we now have been tested in the minors and partner leagues like the ALPB. Joe mentioned the “single disengagement” rule and the “double hook DH”. Joe did NOT mention the designated pinch runner. Joe will try to mention his idea of what do to on Thursday night’s show. Finally, The Chinese Basketball Association disqualified two teams for match fixing in their playoffs. Joe thinks the NBA needs to do this instead of fining Mark Cuban 750k if it wants its players to stop with the “load management” stuff which has taken over the NBA.
