Guest speaker Liz DeFrain addressed the errors of living without a thought toward the next generation. She highlighted King Hezekiah's near-sighted perspective on the sin of pride where he showed off his treasures to an enemy nation. This brought about a judgment that would fall on future generations. The king's response was not repentance nor intercession but acquiescence simply because it didn't fall upon him. Liz strongly encouraged us to live with the motive of raising up the next generations to be strong in the Lord.
