The next episode is quite likely going to be recorded on-the-fly, with thoughts laid down mere moments after the film of choice ends. That’s not a common occurrence on this show, and near as I can remember it has been two whole years since The Matineecast last served as an impromptu post-mortem.By contrast, Matineecast 196 had a few days come and go between watching and talking, which in the case of your humble narrator allowed time for some apprehensions to dispel, time for some curiosities to creep in, and time for appreciation to settle.Basically, had this show followed the plan for the next show, my reaction would have been extremely different.Regardless, I’m happy that my guest was free to join me at the last-minute, and that I stuck with a plan to discuss this film despite early inclinations to discuss something else.
